A meeting place, a place to relate and play<\/h3>\n

When you enter the neighbourhood
\na snake eats up the cars.
\nThe cars disappear and reappear in the garage.
\nThe cars slowly enter the snake\u2019s belly
\nand proceed in silence, giving way to other functions
\nof greater importance and priority.<\/p>\n

In the neighbourhood cars are no longer fast
\nand dangerous mechanical tools;
\nthey especially do not have right of way.<\/p>\n

The rhythm is slow because it is not dictated by cars,
\nbut by our senses. You walk on pathways bedecked
\nwith strange figures or old games.<\/p>\n

Roads become meeting places once more;
\nplaces where people relate, where children play.
\nWe walk at ground level, following sinuous paths
\nwhich move in harmony with the places they pass.

This is actually a normal lamp-post,

\nThe curvature is supposed to give the idea
\nof a bird resting on a branch.
\nThe lamp transforms into a bird with open wings,
\nas if it were about to take flight;
\nthe light shines out of the bird\u2019s middle,
\nwhile the wings, the tail and the beak are the work
\nof craftsmen shaping the outside of the lamp.<\/p>\n

The cars are buried under a mountain of earth.
\nThis creates two hills that can be played on!
\nThe variety of the countryside becomes something
\nprecious, a new opportunity.
\nOn one hill, various essences will mean that the senses
\nwill be exalted: taste, smell, touch.
\nOn the other hill, plants will signal the changing
\nof the seasons, making a calendar of colours.
\nThe hills will reduce the covered surface and increase

From the \u201cmeadow of the laughing monsters\u201d, you pass through the open maw of the monsters to enter two gigantic cellars.<\/p>\n

They are mysterious places hidden below the hills; they are strangely illuminated by lights entering from the mouths, that come down from above and plot designs on the floors.<\/p>\n

These are the broadened garage lanes.<\/p>\n

Usually the garage is a place that has difficulty being what can truly be termed a place.
\nIt has a strange and often nocturnal identity (it is inhabited by night, by cars).
\nIt lives when outside it is cold, rainy, wet. It can be made to live during the day too, it can be invested with other identities and meanings and thus be transformed into a place, where you can run, play, a place of noise and sound. A strange open and covered playroom.<\/p>\n

The oak is the biggest and most powerful tree
\nin our places; it is a safe and sure reference point,
\nenduring through the passing of time. It is a natural hub
\nfor the neighbourhood\u2019s life to revolve around.<\/p>\n

So it has been placed
\nwhere lots of paths meet,
\nwhere its pulse will be most felt.<\/p>\n

To reinforce its symbolic role
\nit will be provided
\nwith benches and furniture;
\nits use as a meeting place will be encouraged.<\/p>\n

\nThe walls, the spaces, the objects go together
\nwith the ideas and give visual and tactile emotion.
\nThe materials change, the colours, the designs,
\nand every step is a discovery.
\nThe houses are decorated with fantastic drawings.<\/p>\n

A place where things that aren’t so now can become so<\/h3>\n

We gave a new space to each house: the Atelier.<\/p>\n

The atelier is a concentration of kids’ wishes.<\/p>\n

An unusual place: transparent, magic, playful, big, intimate… It’s strange for its situation, its shape, size, its materials. It can be in the sky, on the ground, by the side, above, below…<\/p>\n

It’s a workshop, a place where you can reflect together on intuitions, concepts, theories. Some of them still not fully formed, but all seeking interaction where the unexpressed can find a way to be communicated.<\/p>\n

In a house it is the place where magic can be concocted, where ideas can dwell, for the process of creation – my here and now creation can be nurtured and can survive here.<\/p>\n

This is the place that legitimises the community;
\nfrom the individual space (the house belonging
\nto each family) to the space belonging to everyone,
\nwhich requires the participation of everyone in order
\nto exist (order, cleaning, calendar of activities).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the \u2013 indoor \u2013 neighbourhood square.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like the porticos of a mediaeval town centre,
\nbut it can also become like a parlour of the old days,
\nwhere people met to make jams, conserves,
\nwhere parties were held, where a quick hello could
\nbecome a long conversation, a chat, an exchange\u2026
\nWhere being together becomes convivial.<\/p>\n

\nthat is underneath it and greets all the people
